The Expanse: A Telltale Series is an episodic adventure game co-developed by Telltale Games and Deck Nine. Its current five episodes were released between July and September 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

The Expanse, if you're not familiar, is a popular series of books by author James S.A. Corey that was then adapted into a popular TV series for Syfy that ultimately ended up on Amazon's Prime Video. The Expanse: A Telltale Series serves as a prequel to the show, and therefore isn't directly an adaptation of the books.

In fact, we wanted to make something that was the perfect on-ramp for anyone unfamiliar with The Expanse. The nice thing about this taking place prior to the events in season one of the show is that you can start fresh, but you'll obviously get even more out of the game if you've seen the Amazon Prime series.

It's pretty good fan service game (not amazing, just pretty good), and if you watched TV show I recommend, but for people who never watched The Expanse this will be very hard bite, because things will keep lacking good enough context. Honestly I'd say it is the opposite.

The Expanse season 6 was the show's final season, and there are no signs of a season 7. The show's cancelation was likely due to budget constraints and lower viewership figures. The Expanse ended before adapting the remaining three books in the novel series, leaving unresolved storylines.
